| Rule | Any plain fresh or frozen fish without any added spices or sauce. | There is some information to suggest that prawns, lobster and crayfish are naturally high in benzoates however we are still looking for additional information. | Fish in a spicy sauce, any made up fish dishes containing spices. (N.B. Be aware of over the counter delicatessen fish products with no labels as benzoates can be added) |

Always try and get your meat and fish in the most natural way possible. This helps to ensure that no production facility could of added sodium benzoate to the product to increase the self life of the product in the shop.
